| The Honey Drop "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and your staff, they comfort me." Psalm 23:1-4 (ESV) The Picture: Do you have what it takes to handle what is going to happen to you in fifteen minutes?.... |
| Psalm 23 is the chapter that many Christians turn to for comfort when we feel that we cannot handle our present situations. How jarring is it to realize, then, that David was a sheepherder of the desert and the pastures in which he worked (and of which he wrote) held more rocks than grass blades!? God allowed David's words to describe how He (our ultimate Shepherd) leads us through life: Amidst the rocks, sun, heat, and wind. He will lead us to each mouthful of grass. Our job is not to worry about how to survive the elements or the situation, but rather to closely follow the Shepherd to find the next life-sustaining tuft. In John 10:27 Jesus states: "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me." How closely are you trusting and following your Shepherd? |
