Drop of Honey "This is what the Lord says: Cursed are those who put their trust in mere humans, who rely on human strength and turn their hearts away from the Lord. They are like stunted shrubs in the desert, with no hope for the future. They will live in the barren wilderness, in an uninhabited salty land. But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit." --Jeremiah 17:5 (NIV) |
The Picture
The Lord expects all His follower to be shrubs in the desert, like the Acacia tree...
The Lord expects all His follower to be shrubs in the desert, like the Acacia tree...
God has prepared Acacia trees to handle the heat and drought in difficult times. They can survive many years without rain because of a deep root system, and still provide the basic life necessities such as kindling for fire, fruit for food, shade for survival. He will enable us to survive our circumstances so that we can provide as much for those around us if our roots sink deeply into God and his Word (Living Water). Those around us will be blessed by our deep rooted faith and desire for Living Water.
